Mitchell "Mickey" L. Waters

Mr. Mitchell Lee “Mickey” Waters, 77, of Kite passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024, at AU Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.

Mr. Waters was born December 22, 1946, to the late William (Bill) Waters and Iva Nell Johnson Waters. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deborah Wilcher; granddaughter, Blake Butts; brother, Johnny Waters.

Mr. Waters was born in St. Augustine, Florida and grew up in Fellsmere, FL.  He later relocated to Georgia, where his heart longed to be the remainder of his life.  His passions included, first and always after God was his family, fishing, plundering, and eating (especially Julie’s cooking).

Mickey was loved by everyone.  He was an extremely hard-working man and always provided for his family.  He never said no whenever someone needed help.  He was always there for his family and friends.  He will always be loved and missed by everyone he knew.  May he rest in peace eternally.

Mr. Waters is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 39 years, Julie N. Waters of Kite; daughters, Lynn Waters Kersey (Wayne) of Kite, Gwyn Lamia (Gerard) of Summerfield, FL, Michelle Adams (Jeff) of Sebring, FL, Prissy Etherton of Okeechobee, FL, Stephanie Waters (Michael Benson) of Ft. Myers, FL, Angela Waters of Charlotte, NC, Amanda Waters of Kite; son, Cab Butts (Kara) of Okeechobee, FL; brother, Larry Waters of Oldtown, FL; sisters, Sharon Beems (Dave) of Wellington, FL, Sylvia Mayo of Blountstown, FL; sister-in-law, Vicky Waters of Fellsmere, FL, 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Powell’s Chapel Church with Pastor Sammy Newsome officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM. to 11:00 A.M. prior to service.

Interment will follow at Powell’s Chapel Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Albritton, Tyler Etherton, Ronnie Smith, Danny Roseberg, Tim Lamb, Dave Bailey, Kenney Carole and Dale Waters.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bubba Black, Bobby Fortner, Robert King, Todd Fortner, Ed Cannon, James Paul, Joel Cowart and Levi Stoltzfus.
