Montrelle Donovan Griner

Mr. Montrelle Donovan Griner, 31, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, at AU Medical Center in Augusta following a brief illness.

Donovan was born April 6, 1990, in Vidalia to David Griner and Alpha Joiner Griner. He was preceded in death by his sister, Alfreda Joiner; maternal grandparents, Willie and Sara Outler; paternal grandparents, Sim and Georgia Griner. Donovan was loved by his family dearly and will be truly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Donovan was a member of Holy Ghost Assembly in Lyons under the leadership of the late Bishop James Holland as a young child. Later, his mother moved to Swainsboro where they joined Williams Chapel Holiness Church under Apostle Clyde Fowler, Sr. Donovan attended Emanuel County Schools and graduated from Swainsboro High School in 2009. He later attended EmCo Training Center. Donovan was a Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed the game, even though he never played football. He enjoyed going fishing and watching WWF, wrestling was his Monday night entertainment for many years.

Donovan leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother, Alpha Joiner Griner of Swainsboro; loving father, David Lee Griner of Vidalia; sisters, Anjerrica Williams of Swainsboro, Georgia Griner of Vidalia; brother, Andre Griner of Miami, FL; aunts and uncles, Phyllis Jackson, Katherine Gibbs, Joe Joiner, and Jaqueline Brantley (Sammy), all of Swainsboro, Sadie Joiner of Abilene, TX, Winifred Nails (Robert), Gladys Goethe (Henry), Geraldine Roberson (Johnny) Tilford Griner (Betty), Steve Griner, and Larry Griner (Beatrice), all of Baxley, Gail Allison of Iraq; devoted Godparents, Greg and Natalia Carter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God-sisters, God-brothers, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Swainsboro Auditorium.

Interment will follow at Swainsboro City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.
