Nell Dobson

October 28, 1951 — July 3, 2011

Mrs. Nell Dobson, 59, of Norristown died Sunday July 3, 2011 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.

Mrs. Dobson was born in Salma, AL but she lived most of her life in Emanuel County.  She was preceded in death by her father, William “Bill” Pitts; husband of 22 years Eddie F. Dobson; daughter, Charline Farrow; brother, Jim Pitts; niece, Natasha Autry.

Mrs. Dobson was a homemaker. She enjoyed being with her family on cookouts, spending time with her grandson Tae and working on the farm. She was always the first to help anyone in need and attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnessess.

Survivors include her daughters, Tabitha Dobson of Norristown, Kathy Leigh and Fredrick Sherrod of Twin City; mother, Mary Johnson Pitts of Twin City; sister, Mary Hazel and Ed Pierce of Stillmore; brother, Henry Pitts of Swainsboro; two grandsons Tae Dobson of Twin City and Darin Dobson of Adrian; nephew, Kade Scarboro; aunts, and several other nieces and nephews.

Services will be in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, July 6, with Elder Willie Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Chapman Funeral Home and at the residence of Mary Hazel Pierce 121 North 6th St. Stillmore.

Pallbearers will be Chad Pierce, Devin Pierce, Alex Swans, Fredrick Sherrod, Ricky Carter, Johnny Johnson, Chad Brown and Buddy Carter.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Select Specialty Hospital and Care One.
