Nellie Dot Jones

Mrs. Nellie Dot Jones, 94, of Kite passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.  She was born September 5, 1930, in Adrian to Roscoe Riner and Bertha Nell Lawson Riner.  Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phil Jones; son, Ronnie Ray Henry.

Mrs. Jones loved hunting, fishing, and was an avid race car fan.  She enjoyed participating in activities at the Senior Center.   She worked as a bookkeeper and at a beauty salon.

She was a member at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church for 48 years and taught Sunday School during some of that time.

She is survived by her son, Ricky Henry (Carol) of Kite; daughter, Rita Henry Hayes of Adrian; grandchildren, Randy Hayes (Leslie), Luke Henry, Forrest Hayes, Paige Neely (B.J.); great-grandchildren, Lawson Neely, Ridge Neely, Katy Davis; and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Elder Will Martin officiating.

Interment will follow in Sardis Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Darrell Wilson, Eric Morrison, Jerry Riner, Doyle Kersey, Harry Martin, and Ashley Riner.
