Nora Gazelle "Cissy" McNure

Mrs. Nora Gazelle “Cissy” McNure, 68, passed away at her residence in Franklin, NC, on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Mrs. Nora Gazelle “Cissy” McNure was born to the late Joseph Cedric and Carrie Evelyn Hudson in Macon, GA. She was employed with the Georgia Department of Transportation as a District Planning and Programming engineer until her retirement in 2016. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, and had attended other beloved churches, Oaky Grove, Mt. Olive, Corinth, and New Bethel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Cedric and Carrie Evelyn Hudson, a sister Cherry Evelyn Hudson Blizzard, a brother, Joseph Cedric “Bubba” Hudson, Jr., maternal grandparents, Nora Ethelene Harrison Powell Schwalls and Cordy Lanier Powell and Sam Schwalls, and her paternal grandparents, Robert Washington Hudson and Mary Elizabeth Edwards Hudson.

She is survived by her husband, Roger McNure of Franklin, NC, her children, Amy (Eric) Coleman Lizama of Pensacola, FL, Melissa (Rowan) Leigh Coleman of Atlanta, GA, Lindi McNure Vickers, and Ryan Patrick McNure, both of Macon, GA, and her grandchildren, Sydney Leigh Vickers, Michael Gage Vickers, both of Claremont, CA, Amelia Grace Lizama, and Kyler Bane Lizama, both of Pensacola, FL, siblings, Lanier (Peavy) Hudson, and Cathy (David) Howard, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11:00am at Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Tom Akins officiating. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at the Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church at 10 Mt Zion Church Rd, Adrian, GA 31002.

Pallbearers will be Ty Powell, Barry Powell, Josh Frederick, Rodney Martin, Robert Scott, Jamey Toler.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobo Frederick, Eddie Flanders, and Jimmy Blizzard.
