Nyla Faye Drew Price

Nyla Faye Drew Price, "Miss Nyla" to those who knew her, passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 30, 2024 after an acute surgical illness. Born on September 18, 1928, as the youngest daughter of Jack and Fronnia Henry Drew, Nyla grew up with her sisters, Mildred and Lula. Nyla, a resident of Emanuel County for 93 of her 95 years, was deeply rooted in her community where she graduated from Emanuel County Institute and remained a resident of Twin City, GA for most of her life.

Nyla shared 56 years of unwavering love with her husband, Charles Andrew "C.A." Price, until his passing. Her career at Twin City Drug Company spanned over four decades, where she was not just an employee but a familiar and welcoming face. Her commitment extended to her spiritual life where she was a devoted member of Twin City Primitive Baptist Church. The name Twin City Drugs and Miss Nina Faye were synonymous to everyone in the community. In her home, Nyla was a true Southern chef, and she found great joy in feeding those she loved. Her spirit was equally evident when the Georgia Bulldogs were playing, you could hear her cheering from miles away.

In her later years, Nyla moved to Simpsonville, South Carolina, living with her daughter and then to The Springs of Simpsonville Assisted Living. Here, she formed cherished bonds with many, including a group lovingly nicknamed the "Golden Girls". Nyla's legacy is lovingly carried on by her daughter, Marsha Nolen (Rick) of Simpsonville, SC; her son, Drew Price (Angie) of Louisville, GA; her adoring grandchildren, Phillip Greer (Holly) of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael (Mallory) Greer of Greenville, SC, Joel Monyhen of Waynesboro, GA, Shelly Wall of Greenville, SC, and Amy Vickrey of Waynesboro, GA; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Phoenix Greer, Holden Greer, Ethan Mooneyham, Weston Greer, Emily Heibert, Samantha Mooneyham, Avery Wiggins, and Dylan Wall, as well as many special nieces, nephews, and a multitude of special friends. She now joins in eternal peace her late husband Charles Andrew Price, her son Gary Price, her parents, and sisters.

Nyla's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity, the strength of community, and the enduring power of love. Her memory will forever be a beacon of kindness, family, and unwavering faith.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 2, 2024 in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Randall Smith assisted by Elder Mike Gray.

Interment will follow in Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Buck Brown, Johnny Scott, Lee Rountree, Charles Woods, Dean Price, and David McNeeley.

The family requests that you join them for a catered event to celebrate the life of Mrs. Nyla at The Edenfield house immediately following the interment located at 426 W. Church Street, Swainsboro, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
