Mrs. Pamela P. (PJ) Stapleton, 73, of Swainsboro passed away Friday morning, June 5 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Stapleton was born March 24, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late James Monroe Dukes, Sr. and Dorothy Stevenson Dukes. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lucian Elzie Stapleton, Elmer Lindsey and Billy Barber; daughter, Lisa Darlene Stapleton; sister, Linda Kauffman. Mrs. Stapleton moved to Emanuel County in 1986. She was a retired nurse from the Emanuel County Nursing Home. Mrs. Stapleton loved sewing and knitting. She self taught herself to play the guitar, piano and accordion.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Alvin Watson of Swainsboro, Ronald Lewis Stapleton of Goochland VA, and James Joseph Stapleton of Swainsboro; daughters, Dora Lynn (James) Dunn of Macon, Theresa Mone’ (Stephen) Johnson of Dublin, Pamela Yvonne (Ronald) Theobold of Radford,VA, Deborah Rose Stapleton of Swainsboro; brother, James Monroe Dukes, Jr. of Asheville, NC; sister, Dottie Provencher of Jacksonville, FL; 21 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 with Rev. John Hancock, III officiating.
Interment will be in the Rehobath Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Timothy Rodriguez, Ronald Stapleton, Javier Rodriguez and James Dunn.
