Patsy F Thompson

Mrs. Patsy F. Thompson, 83, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Emanuel County Nursing Home. She was born on July 22, 1941, in Swainsboro, to the late Rudolph Fields and Martha Henry Fields. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Chris Thompson; son, Kelley Thompson; brother, Rudy Fields.

After graduation from Swainsboro High School, Patsy attended business school in Augusta, married her high school sweetheart Chris Thompson, and went to work at Public Savings Insurance Company in Swainsboro. She was employed at Emanuel Medical Center for twenty-nine years working in the business office and data processing. She enjoyed all of the relationships she was able to develop over the years through the medical center.

Patsy was a loving and supportive mom. She was the #1 fan of her children and all that they participated in. Cheering from the stands of every baseball and football game Kelley and Tracy played in, and the forever dance MOM for Melonie. If it was a passion for them, it was a passion for her too.

A true passion, and hidden talent of Patsy’s was apparel design. She spent countless hours drawing, choosing fabric, trims, and embroidering competition attire. Along with all of these talents she thoroughly enjoyed needlework. Melonie’s Miss Georgia gown and costume were custom made, but the design credit was all thanks to Patsy.

Her aggressive opinion was well known throughout the pageant and dance communities. “You should never ask Patsy IF you don’t want to hear the truth” was a frequently used remark.

The family extends their eternal gratitude to the staff of Emanuel County Nursing Home and Pruitt Hospice.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her daughter, Melonie (Eddie) Jordan; son, Tracy Thompson both of Swainsboro; grandsons, Zach Thompson (Sydney Crisp), Tyler Thompson; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Graveside Service will be 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Swainsboro City Cemetery with Reverend Greg Ely officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lassiter, Lee Stewart, Eddie Lewis, Zach Thompson, Tyler Thompson, and Bobby Reeves.
