Paul Coleman

Mr. Paul Coleman, 77, of Meeks passed away February 5th, 2024, in the company of his loving family.

Mr. Coleman was born the fifth of 10 children on October 7th, 1946, to the late Archie Bud Coleman and Ruby Lee Grant Coleman. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Janet Lee Coleman and Jeanie Sue Coleman; brothers, Vertis Coleman, Curtis Coleman, David Coleman, and Harold Coleman; sisters, Myrtis Brinson and Judy Cook; grandson, Thomas Lee Coleman; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Cowart Coleman.

Mr. Coleman was reared in the pines of Meeks, GA and lived there his entire life. As a young man he dipped turpentine, and then became a logger for Bennie V. Powell. Mr. Coleman moved into heavy equipment operation while building homes with Bill English. He became a crane operator and superintendent with Bell Construction of Brentwood, TN.  Mr. Coleman retired from the environmental cleanup industry where he was heavily involved in soil remediation, and LFG Gas Systems installation. In retirement, Mr. Coleman enjoyed gardening, canning, and fishing. He especially loved growing cane and cooking it down to make syrup. He enjoyed afternoon visits with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Coleman of Meeks; sons, Verlon Coleman of Meeks, GA, Vince (Kristi) Coleman of Meeks, GA; daughter, Wendy (Stephen) Coker of Twin City, GA; stepsons, Sammy Henry of Swainsboro, GA, Jessie Henry of Swainsboro, GA; brothers, Donald Coleman Swainsboro, GA, Bobby Gary (Denise) Lewis of Swainsboro, GA; sister, Angie Coleman of Cochran, GA; grandchildren, Allison Coleman of Watkins, CO, Alexis (Mason) Henry of Garfield, GA, Caitlan (Gordon) Coleman-Nail of Atlanta, GA, Hollan Coleman of Meeks, GA, Jacob Grimes of Swainsboro, GA, Aaralyn Grimes of Twin City, GA; great grandchild, Marlee Grace Johnson  of Stillmore, GA: several nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.

Funeral services will be at Corinth Church, February 7, 2024, at 2:00 P.M.

The family will receive friends at Chapman Funeral Home, February 6, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Interment will be at Lamb Cemetery.

Pallbearers are “Little” William James, Ty Powell, Mack Waller, Trey Powell, Jake Jackson, and Vic Steptoe.

Honorary Pallbearers are Hugh Foskey, Phil Foskey, Billy James, Kenny Powell, Sonny Norris, Howard Riner, Joe Jackson, Duaine Mimbs, Joe Mimbs, James Grant, and Trai Johnson.
