Pauline Davis Jordan, affectionately known as “Hot Rod,” was born on September 22, 1942, in Emanuel County, Georgia, to the late Johnnie “Bud” Davis and Lizzie “Mae” Davis. She spent her early years in Covena before moving to Akron, Ohio. Pauline was united in marriage to James Harvey Jordan, and from their union, two children were born.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Pauline held various positions in factories, including Capro, Sports Wear, Creston, American Knit, and Stitch and Print. She was a beloved daughter, wife, sister, mother, and friend who touched countless lives with her radiant smile, generous spirit, and unwavering faith. Having accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior, she remained devoted to her faith and frequently visited various churches, especially in recent years.
Pauline was known for her love of fishing and her fondness for watching westerns. She had an infectious personality, bringing joy and laughter to those around her. Her vibrant spirit was evident in the colorful ways she expressed herself, especially through her ever-changing hair colors.
Above all, Pauline cherished her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, finding immense joy in her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings and held her loved ones close to her heart. Her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will continue to live on through them.
On March 23, 2025, Pauline transitioned from this earthly life into eternity. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James; her parents, Johnnie and Lizzie “Mae”; her brothers, Eugene, Darvin, Calvin, Jerry, and John Davis; and her sisters, Cubie Tyree and Ann Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughters: Helen Clark (Albert) of Jacksonville, Johnnie Jordan (Darren Terrell) of Swainsboro, and Latoya Allen (Corey) of Bonaire; her brothers: Johnny Lee Davis (Rose) and Willie Edward Davis (Bonnie) of Akron, Ohio, and Marvin Davis (Faye) of Lisman, Alabama; her sisters: Jeanette Mincey of Miami, Florida, Mae Clyde Davis, and Christine Turner (Earl) of Swainsboro, Georgia, Catherine Doyle (Cleveland) of Land O’Lakes, Florida, and Mary Davis of Madison, Florida. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Othell Clark, Jordae Clark, Keena Jordan, and Da’rel Brevil, along with eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Though her passing leaves a void in our hearts, we find comfort in knowing that her love and cherished memories will continue to guide and inspire us. Pauline’s spirit will forever shine in the lives of those she touched.
Rest in peace until we meet again.
