Raymond Newman

Mr. Raymond Newman, 78, of Adrian passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at Fairview Park Hospital following an extended illness.

Mr. Newman was born June 13, 1941 in Stillmore, GA. to the late Willie Sam “Bill’ Newman and Mattie Sumner Newman.  He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Willie Mae Newman, Clarence Newman, Syble Newman, W.S. Newman, Jeanette Turner, Bobby Newman, Leon Newman, and Louise Jones. Mr. Newman served in United States Army during Vietnam. He enjoyed wood working in his shop, fishing, and being outside. Mr. Newman loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Blackville Church of God.

Survivors include wife, Linda Sapp Newman of Adrian; son, Earl Newman (Kimberly) of Richmond Hill; daughter, Allie Sigmon (James) of Adrian; sister, Ruby Newman Johnson of Canoochee; grandchildren, Hunter Newman, Chandler Newman, Blayne Newman and Abel Sigmon; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2020 in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Kip Boswell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Elam Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Greg Evans, Ryan Jones, Tim Johnson, Hunter Newman, Chandler Newman and Blayne Newman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Raymond Newman to Elam Church or Blackville Church of God 12106 GA. Hwy. 15 Adrian, GA. 31002.
