Rearcie Brantley Mercer

Mrs. Rearcie Brantley Mercer, 89, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Community Hospice in Vidalia. She was born on September 13, 1937, in Summertown to the late James Brantley and Leatta Gunns Brantley. Rearcie lived a life filled with love, kindness, and purpose, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Waders Mercer; daughter, Conney Fay Mercer-Webb; sister Effie May Harmon.

Rearcie leaves behind cherished memories with her three sons, Waders Mercer (Eugenia), Mitchell Mercer (Doll), James Mercer (Theresa), all of Swainsboro; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2026, at St. Philip Baptist Church in Swainsboro with Pastor Larry Sherrod presiding.

Interment will be in Swainsboro City Cemetery.
