Rev. Tommy Wilkerson, 61, of Twin City passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Rev. Wilkerson was born January 2, 1955 in Statesboro, Ga. to the late Roy Thomas Wilkerson, Sr. and Willie Maude Arnold Wilkerson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy Lee Wilkerson, and Bobby Ray Wilkerson; grandsons, Dylan Wilkerson, and Caden Wilkerson. Rev. Wilkerson was a Paramedic employed with Emanuel County EMS for 24 years, he was Deputy Coroner for Emanuel County, and Assistant Pastor at Twin City Church of God. He had a passion for dog training, working on computers and playing guitars. Rev. Wilkerson loved his church, reading and studying the bible, and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Wilkerson of Twin City; sons, Tommy Wilkerson, Jr. (Sara) of Springfield, Mo., Shannon Wilkerson of Adel, Ga, Barry Wilkerson (Lori), and Jason Wilkerson (Lori Beth Johnson) both of Twin City; daughters, Lauria Hamm (Joel) of Adel, Ga., and Jaime Hannah (Greg) of Millen, Ga.; brothers, Roy Wilkerson, Jr. of Swainsboro, and Robert Wilkerson of Twin City; sisters, Catherine Garvin (Glynn) of Twin City, Minnie Lanier of Millen, Vera Henderson of Swainsboro, Jean Sheppard of Swainsboro, Brenda Coleman of Canoochee, and Diane Strickland of Canoochee; grandchildren, Courtney Hadden, Miranda Wilkerson, Harley Wilkerson, Nathan Headrick, Emily Powell, Michaela Wilkerson, Nikolas Headrick, Abby Nichols, Justin Wilkerson, Jayden Wilkerson, Jayda Wilkerson, Taylor Hannah, Caden Howard, Khylie Wilkerson, Jayla Paige Wilkerson, Jaycee Wilkerson, Jayce Wilkerson, Zander Wilkerson, Zayne Wilkerson, Tyler Hamm, and Jay Chance; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2016 with Reverends George Archer, John Woodcock, and Dale Wilkerson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 5 pm. to 8 pm. Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Courtney Terwilliger, Jefferey Peebles, Nicky Drake, Andy Love, Randy Love, Todd Purcell, Wilson Rodrigues, and D.J. Clark.
