Robert Wayne Owens

Mr. Robert Wayne Owens, 55, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Emanuel Medical Center. He was born on December 5, 1970, in Swainsboro to Jessie James Owens and Barbara Jean Tanner Owens. Robert was a 1989 graduate of Swainsboro High School. He was an avid sports fan and loved NASCAR. Robert was a believer in Christ and loved his family. He also loved to fish.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean Tanner Owens.

He is survived by his father, Jessie James Owens of Swainsboro; brother, Jessie James Owens, Jr. of Swainsboro; sister, Wanda Owens of Swainsboro; several cousins and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Hebron Baptist Church with Reverends Butch Taylor and Tom Tidwell officiating.

Interment will follow at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Franky Joiner, Dale Derriso, David Oglesby and Donald Oglesby.
