Mr. Ronald D. Hilliard, Sr. 76, of Midville passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Hilliard was born December 12, 1948, in Eastman to the late Robert Lee Hilliard, Sr. and Gussie Maude Padgett Hilliard. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Nell Hilliard; brothers, Bill Bowen, Jurell Bowen, George Bowen, Robert Hilliard; sister, Lutrell Hinson.
Mr. Hilliard was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. His hobbies included playing the guitar and watching Walker Texas Ranger. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his family race cars and go carts.
Survivors include his son, Ronnie Hilliard of Midville; daughter, Tonya Hilliard of Midville; brother, Larry Hilliard (Carolyn) of Collins; sister, Vaunell Floyd of Alma; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Earnest and Mary Collins; grandchildren, William Drew (Jessica), Kayla Jeffcoat (Bryce), Cole Riner (Sarah), Kaylan Hilliard; great grandchildren, Harley Drew, Jaxson Drew, Marlee Johnson, Brinslee Johnson, Odie Jeffcoat; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2025, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Stuart Waller officiating assisted by Reverend Jesse Bowen.
Interment will follow in Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Casey Collins, Ernie Collins, William Drew, Cole Riner, Ryan Riner, Roger McKenzie, and Clayton Shepard.
