Ruth "Von" Yvonne Price

Mrs. Ruth Yvonne “Von” Price, 77, of Swainsboro, passed away, Saturday, February 10, 2024, at AU Medical Center in Augusta.

Mrs. Price was born November 4, 1946, in Dublin to the late Pershing Jutt Lampp and Annie Ruth Young Lampp. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Julian Paul Price, Sr.; companion, Lynn Johnson.

Von was always known for her contagious smile and bubbly personality. Her jovial laugh and welcoming presence brightened any room. She had a way to make everyone feel special and never met a stranger. She was known affectionately as “Miss Von” for many years when she worked at Powell Smith Hospital, later known as Smith Clinic. Once she married Julian, she became a stay-at-home mom. After his death, she began keeping children in her home and instantly became, “Granny Von” to many. She obtained her LPN degree and resumed her passion for working in the medical field. Von enjoyed spending time and traveling, especially to the mountains with her family and friends. She also looked forward to her many outings with her sister, Patsy. Upon retiring from her career, Von has spent the last several years enjoying her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many friends. A favorite memory for all that she leaves behind is her warm, smacking kisses. Von will never be forgotten.

Mrs. Price is survived by her sons, J.P. (Kelly) Price of Bogart, Joe (Teri) Price of Swainsboro; daughters, Ashley (Joey) Hood of Kite, Julie (Tommy) Rogers of Statesboro, Joan Lawson of Swainsboro; brother, Delton (Charlyne) Lampp of Dublin; sister, Patsy Johnson of Kite; grandchildren, Taylor Hood, Juliana Hood, Grady Price, Sam Price, Ryan (Kim) Price, Jennifer (Shay) Kelly, Patrick (Lauren) Price, Marla (Ashley) Hooks, Alecia (Brad) Wiggins, Matthew (Lauren) Rogers, Jordan Lawson, Madison Lawson; Great-grandchildren, Ayden, Addie, Alivia Jo, Brantley, Charlsey, Tyler, Zella, Ella Jo, Broxton, Nora, Erin, Tess, William, Zander; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Morris Brantley officiating assisted by Randy Buxton at graveside.

Interment will follow in Swainsboro City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Matthew Rogers, Ryan Price, Ashley Hooks, John Buxton, Brent Herndon and Junior Johnson.
