Obituary Samuel Clark Evans IV
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel Clark Evans IV on May 12, 2024 in Bartow, Georgia. He went peacefully and we are grateful for his passing.
Samuel Clark Evans IV was born on Sept 21,1938 in Jefferson County. The oldest son of Samuel Clark Evans III and Virginia Ingram Evans. He grew up in Wadley and graduated from Wadley High School in 1956. He went on to receive his Civil Engineering degree from Southern Tech in 1960. Following, he married his high school sweetheart, JoAnn Smith of Bartow, Ga. They moved to Atlanta and made their home in Tucker, Ga. where they raised their children, Samuel Clark Evans V and Susan Ivey Evans.
Clark built his career working at North Brothers Insulation Company and eventually became President. After leaving North Brothers, he started his own company, National Insulation. He traveled a lot for work, mostly in the southeast region and some internationally. In his off time enjoyed tennis, supporting his kids sports and activities, including hunting and fishing. Clark was an Eagle Scout and continued to work with the Boy Scouts while his son Sam who also became an Eagle Scout.
The couple purchased a farm and club house on the outskirts of Bartow and split their time between Bartow and Tucker. They developed a lovely property over time and he enjoyed: gardening, collecting buildings for his own village, Clarkland and all kinds of farm projects.
Following retirement, Clark and JoAnn traveled with close friends across the US and around the world. He was active in the Bartow community with the Bartow Museum and the Community Playhouse Theater.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Evans of Bartow, Ga. Son, Sam Evans (Kristine) of Bartow, Ga. Daughter, Susan Evans of Savannah, Ga. Sisters, Phyllis Calhoun and Hannah Cooke (Rick) of Cumming Ga. His beloved grandchildren. Various nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled for Sunday June 2nd at 3:00 and Celebration to follow at the Evans Bartow Cow farm. The invitation is open for all friends and family. A casual event around the Evans farm.
