Mrs. Sara Ann Hackle, 65, of Swainsboro died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Scott Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness.
Mrs. Hackle was born in Nahunta, GA but made her home in Emanuel County. She was preceded in death by her parents Oree Long and Mary Grace Rowell Dowling; brother, Hilton Dowling. Mrs. Hackle loved reading her bible, going to church, spending time with her family, and playing rummy and yahtze. She was employed with Maryland Fried Chicken in Swainsboro were she worked as a clerk before retiring. She was a member of Emanuel Worship Center.
Survivors include her daughters, Marie Tanner, Deborah (Dale) Johnson, Diane (David) Johnson all of Swainsboro, and Tina (Tommy) Webb of Adrian; sisters, Vanessa King of Wrens, Linda Campbell of TN, Linda Shuman of Brunswick and Cindy Long of Loris, SC; brothers, Oran Long, Mike Long, Doug Long, Scottie Long all of Loris SC, David Dowling of Arkansas, and Danny Dowling of Jessup; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 3 o’clock Wednesday, September 7, with the Reverends Mark Hardin and Joe Bedgood officiating. Burial will be in Eastbrook Cemetery in Swainsboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Chapman Funeral Home and at residence of Deborah and Dale Johnson 1619 Hwy 57 West Swainsboro, GA 30401.
Pallbearers will be Roy Marcin, Joey Schoen, Grady Scott, B. J. Bedgood, John Webb, Jason Wilkerson, and Vincent Johnson.
