SFC. Thomas W. Davis, Sr., 70, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Carl Vinson V.A. Medical Center following an extended illness.
SFC. Davis was born April 21, 1946 in Charleston, SC to the late Thomas Davis and Lois Thomas Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Dina Rae Davis. SFC. Davis was retired from the United States Army with 28 yrs. of service, being deployed during Desert Storm. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, also past member of the American Legion, VFW., Swainsboro Masonic Lodge, Alee Shrine, Swainsboro JC., Lions Club, and Sons of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Brenda Davis of Swainsboro; son, Wayne (Belinda) Davis of Swainsboro; daughter, Nina (Jeremy) Fields of Swainsboro; sister, Barbara (Charles) Atkinson of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Branden Peebles, Brendan Peebles, Jed Peebles, Heather Downs, April Larisey, Sam Jones, Austin Fields, and Amber Fields; 6 Great-Grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 2:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, June 1, 2016 with Reverends Louis Pearce , Ricky Rushing, and Arthur McClain officiating.
Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 6pm. to 8pm. Tuesday evening, May 31, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Donnie McNeely, H.G. Youmans, Hubert Hendrix, Terry Brown, Al Lawson Jr., and Raybon Wilson.
Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Emanuel County Veterans Center and the Georgia Army National Guard.
