Mrs. Shirley C. Hooks, 91, of Twin City passed away Friday, June 28, 2024, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born March 11, 1933, in Utica, New York to the late Bernard J. Clarke and Eleanor Hartnett Clarke. Mrs. Hooks was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Clarke and Gene Clarke; sister, Bonnie Clarke. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed baking, painting, crocheting and growing roses. She loved animals. She was a great cook.
She is survived by her husband, Ricky Hooks of Twin City; son, Robert Canady (Tyra) of Covington; daughter, Emily Long of Soperton; grandchildren, Taylore Ozburn (Jeffrey), Rachael Hill (Travis), Noah Canady (Lana Burchett), Cindy Fulford (Caleb), and Jamie Riner (Penny); 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, June 30, 2024 in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Wiggins officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Chapman Funeral home.
Interment will follow at Canoochee Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jamie Riner, Seth Riner, Noah Canady, Jeffrey Ozburn, Travis Hill and Benji Johnson.
