Ms. Sierra LeAnn Hawkins, 15, of Norristown died Saturday morning, March 9, 2013 at the Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro following a brief illness.
Sierra was born in Emanuel County and spent most of her life here except for a small period of time she lived in Chatsworth GA. She was very creative and artistic. Sierra was an honor student throughout her years in school. She enjoyed writing poetry. Sierra’s writing was published and is on display in The Library of Congress in Washington, D. C. Sierra was also a cheerleader while living in Chatsworth GA. She was a member of Stephanie’s Dance Explosion, enjoyed singing in chorus, and attended Swainsboro High School as a freshman. Sierra loved spending her time outdoors with her pets and playing with her little brother Ray J. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family members she leaves behind.
Survivors include her parents, Tammy Griffin of Norristown and Patrick Hawkins of Birmingham, AL; brothers, Raymon Cribb of Norristown and Logan Hawkins of Birmingham, AL; sister, Jolie Hawkins of Kite; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Sandra Griffin of Norristown; aunt, Amy Barker of Norristown; uncle, Ronald Griffin, Jr. of Tampa, FL; and several other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 1 o’clock Tuesday, afternoon March 12 2013 with Reverend Charles Parrish officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Norristown.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 11 2013 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Paul Zipperer, Ronald Griffin, Jr., Andy Davis, Derrick Sconyers, Tony Wiley and Trent Baker
