Mr. Steven Martin, 53, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday morning, October 10, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Martin was born May 30, 1962 in Swainsboro to the late James D. Martin and Oveta Altman Emery. He was a lifelong resident of Emanuel County. Mr. Martin loved fishing and NASCAR racing.
Survivors include his sons, Joshua Derick Martin of Swainsboro and Steven K. Martin (Brandy Lynn Hurt) of Swainsboro; brothers, James Edward Martin (Judy Martin) of Dellwood, Jesse Carl Martin, Willard Pete Martin, and Jeff Martin all of Augusta, Randall Martin of Dexter; sisters, Diane Welch of Augusta, Martha Martin of Oklahoma, Helen Womack of Millen, Terri (Tifton) Lamb of Swainsboro, Frances Elaine Martin of Millen, and Donna Ruth (Aaron) Taylor of Millen; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 with Reverend Louis Pearce officiating.
Interment will be in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Kite.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Steven K. Martin, Joshua D. Martin, Seth Henry, James Martin, Colby Martin, Aaron Taylor, Jeremy Loyd, Eric Goddard.
