Susan Foskey Cortes

Mrs. Susan Foskey Cortes, 58, of Swainsboro passed away on May 2, 2026, at East Georgia Regional Center in Statesboro. She was born on October 4, 1967, in Swainsboro to the late Carolyn Bargeron Foskey and Pheo Larry Foskey.

Susan Foskey Cortes was a loving wife, devoted grandmother, and a genuine sweetheart to all who knew her. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandson, who brought her endless joy. Susan had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for making others feel at home, often sharing laughter as she cooked for those she loved.

She loved worship music and was a faithful member of New Beginnings Worship Center for the last 5 years, where her faith remained an important part of her life. Susan will be remembered for her kind heart and the love she shared so freely with others.

She is survived by her husband, Guillermo “Pedro” Cortes; daughter, Lacey Beasley (Dedrec Davis); brother, Larry Foskey (Kelly); sister, Sandy Wheeler (Carl); grandson; Shy Davis; great nephew, Jackson Foskey; several other nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Tim Price officiating.
