Susie Meeks

Ms. Susie Meeks, 81, of Adrian passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.

Ms. Meeks was born February 14, 1940 in Adrian to the late Albert J. Webb and Thelma Lee Hopkins Webb. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Darrell Meeks.  Ms. Meeks attended Adrian High School.  She worked at Piggly Wiggly and BiLo in the meat department where she retired.  Ms. Meeks also worked at Food Chief in Adrian for many years.  She enjoyed working with flowers, attending yard sales and playing games on her phone.  She especially loved her grandchildren and spending time with Ms. Dot on her front porch.  She was a member of Adrian United Methodist Church for 17 years.

Survivors include her daughters, Sherry Ripperger (Dwayne Sumner) of Adrian, Dana Stanford (Gary) of TyTy and Carla Johnson (Craig) of Adrian; brothers, Jimmy Webb (Nelma) of Centerville, and Johnny Webb (DeeDee) of Adrian; sisters, Wynette Braddy of Glenville, and Terri Kersey of Adrian; grandchildren, Kayla Sumner (Larry), Matthew Ripperger (Kate Jackson),  and Justin Johnson (Sandy) all of Adrian; great grandchildren, Autumn Scott, Nollan Scott, Cole Sumner, Weston Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Ava Johnson, and Waylen Sluder; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverends Tommy Veal and Mark Hardin officiating.

Interment will follow at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021, in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Danton Morris, Wayne Foskey, Ken Webb, Jason Mimbs, Keith Johnson, and Matt Collins.
