Mrs. Tammie M. Lindy, 56, of Garfield, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on September 14, 1968, in Millen, to the late Fred McCoy and Adelle Foreman McCoy.
Mrs. Lindy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ira Lindy, Sr. She was employed by United Hospice of Swainsboro for 24 years until her health began to fail. Mrs. Lindy was in different organizations that she enjoyed. She was vice president of “The Concerned Citizens of Twin City” and “The Worthy Matron of Eastern Star”. Mrs. Lindy joined Union Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and worked on the usher board.
She is survived by her son, Ali Clark (Tera) of Statesboro; daughter, Ashley Clark of Garfield; grandchildren, Aycen Flemming, Kinsley Clark, Kash Clark, Austin Gibbons; sister, Connie Gibbons of Canoochee; nieces, Andi Gibbons. Asia Gibbons: very close friends, Jackie Harns, Shelia McLendon, Janet Anderson, Sylvia Sampson; special nephew, Larrione Carlyle (Taylor) of Atlanta; other family members and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, September 30, 2024, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Raymond Harrison officiating, Minister Ralph Carlyle presiding and scripture reading by Dr. K. E. McNeal.
Mrs. Lindy will lie in state 1 hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Union Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Eric Foreman, Tre Drummer, Caleb Fields, Chase Newkirt, Lamont Clark and Anthony Mercer.
Flower bearers are Eastern Star Sisters.
