Mr. Tarl Bentley Fennell, Jr., 74, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Emanuel Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Fennell was born August 7, 1944 in Metter, Ga. to the late Tarl Bentley Fennell, Sr. and Lannie Louise Smith Fennell. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian Fennell; brothers, Hugh Fennell and Stanley Fennell. Mr. Fennell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors, he knew the Ocmulgee River like the back of his hand. Mr. Fennell loved his family and loved spending time with them. He was a member of Dodges Chapel Methodist Church and attended Dellwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice L. Fennell of Swainsboro; daughters, Dell Atkins (James) of Helena and Wendy Diaz (Angel) of Hazlehurst; step-son, Eric Herrington of Swainsboro; brother, Emory Fennell (Joyce) of Swainsboro; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018 with Reverend Curtis Wells officiating.
Interment will follow at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Eric Herrington, Steven Sutton, Bobby Seamans, Keith Attaway, Ben Shephard, and Steve Akridge.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jamie Kirby.
