Mr. Terrell Fernando Hopkins, 62, of Swainsboro passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at WellStar Medical Center in Augusta. He was born on March 13, 1964, in Swainsboro to the late George Miles and Juanita Hills.

Terry lived a life rooted in hard work, simple pleasures, and an unwavering commitment to his community and country. He left behind a legacy of integrity and dedication that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A proud graduate of Savannah State University, Terry carried the values of his alma mater throughout his life.

Following his education, he honorably served in the United States Army, a chapter of his life that solidified his deep sense of duty and discipline. Terry was a firm believer in giving an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay. He never cut corners, and he taught those around him the value of seeing a job through to the end.

When he wasn’t working, Terry was happiest outdoors. He was an avid sports fan who loved the thrill of the game, but his true sanctuary was out on the water. Fishing was his ultimate escape—a place where patience met peace, and where he spent some of his absolute best days.

Terry is survived by his son, Brandon Hopkins of Swainsboro; brother, Derric Hopkins of Athens; sister, Beverly Hopkins of Swainsboro; and granddaughter, Baleigh Hopkins.
