Mr. Theron Moore, 94, of Vidalia passed away Friday evening, January 20, 2017 at Community Hospice Vidalia following an extended illness.
Mr. Moore was born December 28, 1922 in Swainsboro, Ga. to the late Levy Franklin Moore and Rosa Riner Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, and 5 sisters. Mr. Moore spent 4 years in the Army before going to work for the United States Postal Service where he retired in 1987. He lived all his life in Swainsboro except the last 4 years. He loved fishing, hunting, and playing cards. Mr. Moore was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church for 51 years, and a member of United Methodist Men.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carolyn F. Moore of Vidalia; sons, Franklin (Gay) Moore of Perry, and Anthony (Melissa) Moore of Vidalia; grandchildren, Melanie Moore Watson (Jamey), Eric Moore (Brittany), and Meredith Gay (Matt); great-grandchildren, Ella Watson, Campbell Watson, Sadie Beth Watson, Riley Gay, and Caroline Moore; sister-in-law, Nancy Flanders of Midville, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 with Reverends Nick Hazelton, and Ricky Rushing officiating.
Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating.
Pallbearers are Chesley Flanders, M.L. Gay, Phillip Pritchard, Joe Flanders, Jerry Moore, and Tim Garrett.
The family will receive friends from 5 pm. to 7 pm. Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, Swainsboro or Community Hospice of Vidalia.
