Timothy William "Speedy" Bramlitt

Mr. Timothy William “Speedy” Bramlitt, 47, of Summertown passed away Friday, July 30, 2021, at his residence following a brief illness.

Mr. Bramlitt was born August 7, 1973, in Augusta to James W. Bramlitt and Imogene McArthur Bramlitt.  He is preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Willie Ernest and Lou Ella McArther; paternal grandparents, Marion and Billie Scott Bramlitt. During his lifetime he had done some farming and weed eating for the town of Summertown. Weed eating was his passion. He also liked to operate a vacuum cleaner in his younger days. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was very humble and always ready to lend a hand to anyone he could. He was fascinated with the Bible and read it very often. He loved little children and they loved him back. He was very loving to animals and had a tender spot in his heart for them. In High School he had the nickname of “Speedy” because he was always afraid, he’d be late for class and flew down the halls to get to his next class. He graduated with the class of 1993.

Survivors include his mother, Imogene McArthur Bramlitt of Summertown; brother, James (Terry) Bramlitt of Statesboro; nephew, Zachary Bramlitt of Brooklet; great nephews, Keaton Bramlitt and Casey Bramlitt; 3 aunts; several cousins and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2021, at Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating.

Interment will follow at Swainsboro City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Nikki Drake, Clay Green, Dusty Screws, Chris Wheeler, Zach Bramlitt, Kevin Strange, and Jamie McArthur.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to United Primitive Baptist Church of Swainsboro or the Charity of your choice.
