Wanda Stapleton

Mrs. Wanda Stapleton, 69, of Kite passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Stapleton was born July 25, 1949 in Swainsboro, Ga. to the late Randolph Shepard and Eddie Mae Price Shepard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Stapleton; sister, Clementine Shepard; brothers, Eddie Randall Shepard and Danny Shepard. Mrs. Stapleton was a lifelong resident of Johnson county.  She was a homemaker.  Mrs. Stapleton loved cooking, sewing, helping other people, but her greatest passion was her family.  She was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her sons, Shannon (Kim) Stapleton of Kite, Sherman (Rhonda) Stapleton of Kite, Stoney (Heather) Stapleton of Moore’s Chapel Community, and Steven (Meagan) Stapleton of Kite; daughters, Marie Stapleton of Wrightsville and Sue (Roger) Webb of Wrightsville; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be in the Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 with Reverends Lamar Kersey and Arthur Conley officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Sammy Henry, Jessie Henry, Cody Stapleton, Kelly Stapleton, Chris Stapleton and Keith Lumpkin.

Honorary Pallbearers are Sonny Norris, Gary Lindsey, and Jimmy Claxton.
