Mrs. Howell was born in Swainsboro, Georgia to the late Howell Davis and Hilda Chapman Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Remus Howell; son, Kenneth Howell; brothers, Larry Davis, Keith Davis; sister, Connie Meeks; great grandson, Maddox Perry. Mrs. Howell was a life long resident of Emanuel County. She loved reading her bible, sewing, bird watching, western movies and keeping a daily journal. Her favorite singer was Alan Jackson. Mrs. Howell was a member of Shurwood Forest Church of God in Wrightsville.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna (David) Kersey of Kite and Diane (David) Hird of Atlanta; sons, Randy (Dedra) Howell of Dilliard and Ben Howell of Garfield; sisters, Joan (Carroll) Morgan of Dellwood and Debbie (Gains) Smoak of Sylvania; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2014 with Rev. Allen Meeks officiating. Interment will be in the Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Kite.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday evening, January 11, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Chad Howell, Caleb Howell, Eric Kersey, Ken Howell, Christopher Howell and Michael Howell.
