Mr. Waynard Trippi Johnson, 66, of Garfield died Monday, January 21, 2013 at his residence following a brief illness.
Mr. Johnson was born in Millen but lived in Garfield since the age of seven. He was preceded in death by his parents Monroe Johnson and Eudine Edwards Johnson and brother, Dwight Johnson. Mr Johnson worked with the United States Postal Service before serving in the U. S. Army where he was a military police officer during the Vietnam War era. Mr. Johnson was an avid Golf fan.
Survivors include his daughter, Shannon Anderson of Garfield; sister, Shirley (Ronnie) Anderson of Statesboro; 7 grandchildren, Cheyanne, Samantha, James, Aaron, Logan, Olivia and Benjamin Anderson all of Garfield, several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 6 o'clock Thursday afternoon, January 24, 2013 with Rev. Randy Adams officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
