Mr. Wayne David Grimes, 47, of Twin City passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at his residence following a brief illness.
Mr. Grimes was born July 12, 1967 in Metter to David and Arlene Grimes. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie and Lola Gay; paternal grandparents, W. C. and Thelma Grimes. Mr. Grimes was high school graduate and completed classes to become a florist. He had a love for making flower arrangements for over 35 years.
Survivors include his parents, David Grimes and Arlene Gay Grimes of Twin City; sisters, Mary Ann Grimes and Cheryl Akridge both of Twin City; nephews, Bubba Williams and Caleb Akridge both of Twin City; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Twin City Church of God at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, April 11, 2015 with Reverend John Woodcock and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating.
Interment will follow in the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Twin City.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening, April 10, 2015 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Nathan Coursey, W. C. Grimes, Tommy Davis, Ronnie Goodman, Norman Goodman and Tony Gay.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Lamar Archer, Gary Johnson and Shane Akridge.
