Wiley Lee Sims, Jr.

Mr. Wiley Lee Sims, Jr., 56, of Swainsboro passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, in Augusta following an extended illness.

Wiley was born in Augusta to the late Wiley Lee Sims, Sr. and Carrie Mae Bell Sims.  He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Eula and Gordon Carswell, Essie Mae and George Sims, Sr.; great-grandparents, Carrie Lou and Collin Bell.  Wiley attended Carver Elementary and Wadley High School in Wadley and Louisville High School in Louisville.  He worked at Swainsboro Housing Authority and also worked in construction for several years.  Wiley was very family oriented.  He was a great fan of Swainsboro Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs.  He always looked forward to holidays and family get-togethers.

He is survived by his sons, Deshon Taylor of Augusta, GA., Armanie Sims and Se’phon Wiley Lee Sims, both of Swainsboro; brothers, Timothy Sims (Tamara) of Dallas, Halbert Sims of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter, Saig Williams; special friend, Jackie Smiley and best friend, Jimmy Shanks; and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at Chapman Funeral Home.
