Wilhelmina S. Walden

Mrs. Wilhelmina S. Walden, 91, of Swainsboro, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, at her residence. She was born on May 31, 1935, in Wrightsville to the late Willie Barney and Loree Hammock Sweat.

Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia Lewis; grandson, Tres Pack; granddaughter, Lisa Randall; siblings, Willie Sweat, Herman Sweat, Marie H. Hammock, Burma S. Pacetti, and Ronny Sweat.

She was a dedicated member of Mt. Shady Baptist Church and a true believer in Jesus Christ. She lived her life as a shining example of faith, love, and kindness, always striving to follow in the footsteps of her Savior. Her faith was an important part of who she was and was reflected in the way she loved and cared for others.

She was a long-time manager of Family Dollar, where she was known for her hard work and dedication. Above all, she was a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She cherished her family and the time they shared together, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 74 years, Billy Gene Walden; children, Wendell G. Walden (Joan), Ricky L. Walden (Reda), Linda W. Whitfield, Teresa G. Pack (J.D.); grandchildren, Lance Hooks, Hunter Freeman, Stephannie Waters (David), Jaren Veal (Robby), David Randall (Alyssa), Casey Lamb, Chris Lamb (Tricia), Blake Whitfield, Blair Whitfield Heaton (Travis), Davi McGowan, Ben Brown (Chelsea); 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, Wain Sweat, Kenneth Sweat, Claudette S. Brown (Buddy), Shirley Underwood.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Shady Baptist Church with Reverend Rusty Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the church 1 hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville.

Pallbearers will be Lance Hooks, Hunter Freeman, Blake Whitfield, Ben Brown, Travis Heaton, Andy Dixon, and Aaron McGowan.
