Mr. William Nelson Arnold, 101, of Swainsboro passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Arnold was born June 28, 1919 in Tift County, Georgia to the late Richmond Arnold and Lillie Gay Arnold. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Rita Mae Arnold; second wife, Jocelyn Ann Stewart Burton Arnold; step-son, Richard A. Stewart; step-granddaughter, Kandace Bates; brothers, Wilson Arnold, Freddie Arnold; sisters, Cassie Colf, and Margie Arnold. Mr. Arnold served in the U.S. Air Force for 33 years. He spent 3 years in South Dakota as an Air Force Quality Control Representative during the installation of Titan and Minuteman Missles around Rapid City, SD. After retiring from the Air Force, Mr. Arnold worked as a farmer for 30 years. He enjoyed remodeling homes, traveling in his R.V., resting and relaxing. Mr. Arnold spent time reminiscing about the good ole days and what he had accomplished. He was a member of First Methodist Church of Perry and Calvary United Methodist Church of Swainsboro.
Survivors include his step-daughter, Connie Causey of Swainsboro; 3 step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2021 at Calvary United Methodist Church with Reverend Rickey Rushing officiating.
Entombment will follow at 3 p.m. at Perry Memorial Gardens 1208 Main Street, Perry GA 31069 with Reverends Roland Fall and Nick Hazelton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2021 at Calvary United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers are Halsey Stewart, Grason Sweet, William Raulerson, Lil’ Halsey Stewart, Kelby Case, Danny Raines, Jimmy Dartez, and Brett Willis.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sunshine House in Swainsboro, The Methodist Children’s Home in Macon or Shriner's Children Hospitals.
In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6 feet rule will be enforced during visitation and service.
