Mr. William “Billy” Perry, 73, of Bartow passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in Augusta, following a brief illness. He was born March 24, 1951, in Kite to the late Clarence Gordon Perry and Lenora Jackson Perry.
Mr. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary McClain and grandson, Maddox Perry.
Billy was an active member of New Home Baptist Church of Kite. He retired in 2013 after 10 years of service with Georgia DOT out of Louisville. He enjoyed hobbies such as carpentry and collecting civil war memorabilia and antiques. You could always find him out in his shop tinkering on some project. One of Billy’s greatest treasures and accomplishments was him being a Papa to all his grandkids. He loved them all dearly and they loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Perry of Bartow; daughters, Mary Beth Soto (Luis) of Dublin, Jennifer Miller (Chris) of Swainsboro, Crystal Perry of Bartow; sisters, Brenda Call (Bill) of Marietta, Catherine “Pete” McCoy of Wrightsville; grandchildren, Blake Ferrell, Skylar Clanton, Trenton Miller, Kolbie Cannady, Caleb Matthews: great-granddaughter, Adaline Grace Martin (due in November); several nieces, nephews and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, October 12, 2024, New Home Baptist Church.
