Mr. William “Bill” Francis Jacobs, III, 65, of Soperton passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on September 13, 1960, in Tallahassee, FL, to the late William Francis Jacobs, Jr. and Marjorie Jones Jacobs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Trisha Jacobs, Ashleigh Jacobs; brother, Mike Jacobs; paternal grandparents, William Jacobs, Sr. and Audrey Jacobs; maternal grandparents, Lankford Youngblood and Leila Youngblood.
Bill, mostly known as “Wild Bill,” spent the majority of his life in Tallahassee, FL, before moving to Georgia in 1999. Bill was a hardworking man with many talents, building a career in welding/fabrication, and commercial machinery maintenance.
Bill loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting deer, ducks, turkeys, and raccoons, as well as spending time fishing. He was a proud member of the Cruise-In for a Cause Motorcycle Association and a former member of the Yam Grandy Coon Hunting Club and Yam Grandy Hunting Club. He also attended Open Door Biker Church and Morningside Baptist Church. Bill will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, love for the outdoors, and the friendships he made throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sheila Jacobs; 4 children, Justin Jacobs (Jamie), Chelle Jacobs, Daniel Spears (Amber), Cutter Jacobs; brothers, Kent Jacobs (Mary), Karl Jacobs (Ann); sister, Audrey Brumbley; 10 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Edge and Pastor Vic Fordham officiating.
Interment will follow in Morningside Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
Pallbearers will be Justin Jacobs, Daniel Spears, Cutter Jacobs, David Jacobs, Byron Jacobs, and Tom Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers include Ricky Hooks, Michael Hooks, Max Tapia, and Junior Elkhatio.
