Winnie J. Stoddard

Winnie J. Stoddard, 93, of Chapel Hill, N.C., formerly of Garfield, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025, in Pittsboro, North Carolina, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Stoddard was born January 7, 1932, in Garfield, to Mr. John T. Johnson, Jr. and Mrs. Pearl Allmond Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents, and first husband, Harold Eugene Gibson.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Stoddard of Chapel Hill; daughters, Deborah Gibson Willingham (Terry) of San Angelo, TX, Angela Stoddard Funkhouser (Joe) of Bunker Hill, W Va; brothers, James M. Johnson (Ruth) of Barnwell, SC, Roger Johnson (Joyce) of Garfield; sisters, Juanita Sikes of Garfield, Martha Peacock (Bobby) of Twin City, Linda Nash (Terry) of Goodland, KS; granddaughters, Lacey Scorgie (Alex) of Princeton, TX, Beth Anne Cantrell (Danny) of Martinsburg, WV; 4 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A Graveside service will be held at Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., with Reverend Franklin Sasser officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, at 1:00 P.M. until time of service.
