Yvonne Johnson Woods

Mrs. Yvonne Johnson Woods, 69, of Swainsboro, GA. passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Woods was born February 8, 1950 in Washington County to the late William Franklin Johnson and Lois Hood Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Anthony Johnson; sisters, Teresa Holton and Connie Sue Johnson. Yvonne worked many years with Keller Industries. After retirement, she enjoyed gardening, cross-stitching, and sitting on her back porch watching her hummingbirds feed and perch themselves on her favorite tree: a Japanese Maple. What brought Yvonne the most joy were her grandsons, from playing video games, to listening to them make their case for the existence of Big Foot. Yvonne’s love, strength and courage are what her family will remember most.

Survivors include her husband, Randall N. Woods, Sr. of Swainsboro; son, Randall Woods, Jr. (Tracy) of Swainsboro; daughter, Vera Meshia Williams (Richard) of Swainsboro; brothers, Pete Johnson of Florida, Franklin Johnson of Kite, Jerome Johnson of San Diego, Cal., and Timothy Todd Johnson of Brunswick; sister, Sara Deborah Johnson of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Lake Woods and Landon Woods; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 with Rev. Joe Bedgood officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Randall Peebles, Wade Peebles, Chris Jukes, Keith Wright, Josh Williams, and Wayne Crawford.
