Ms. Almeta Kirkland Wilcher, 84, of Twin City passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at Twin View Health and Rehab following an extended illness.
Ms. Wilcher was born March 19, 1936 in Millen to the late Ben Kirkland and Sarah Connor Kirkland. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben Kirkland and Sarah Connor Kirkland; husbands, Willie Joe McNear, George Wilcher; brothers, Clarence Kirkland, Rufus Kirkland; sisters, Bennie Lee Burros, Lillie Ruth Giles. Ms. Wilcher loved gardening. She was a member of New Testament Missionary Outreach.
Survivors include her sons, Bobby (Barbara) McNear of Metter, Frank (Marissa) McNear of Twin City; daughters, Peggy Branch of Twin City, Glenda Banner of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Estella Gay of Millen; grandchildren, Chris (Sharon) Hughes, Willie Hughes, Ben (Fonya) Hughes, Shaneika (Thomas) Gallon, Kejuan (Janie) McNear, Alonzo Burke, Ruthie Milton, Cameyshia Carlyle, Briana Swans, Bobby Swans, Shetisha Banner; 22 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 19, 2020 1 p.m. at New Testament Missionary Outreach with Reverend Calvin Boykin officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service.
In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6 feet rule will be enforced during visitation and service.
