Ms. Betty Lou Moore Meeks, 77, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Pruitt Health following an extended illness.
Ms. Meeks was born March 1, 1943 in Swainsboro, GA. to the late Callaway M. Moore and Jamie Lou Page Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Sidney Meeks, Jr.; son, James Jaryle Meeks;
sister, Christine Peebles. Ms. Meeks was a 1961 graduate of Swainsboro High School. She had worked at Ithaca and Sportswear as a seamstress, and also worked for Burger King for ten years. . Ms. Meeks taught Sunday School and choir at Kite Church of God and she led the choir at Eastwood Church of God. She was a member of Eastwood Church of God.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Meeks of Adrian; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be Monday, March 16, 2020 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverends Allen Meeks, Morris Brantley and Chaplain Franklin Sasser officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 16, 2020 from 1 to 3 p.m. at chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Steve Meeks, Andy Meeks, Tim Rountree, Kelmer Durden, Jr., Roy Joe Peebles, Jeffery Meeks,
Jimmy Page and Jody Gibson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Wayne Page, Ralph Page and Jamie Minton.
