Mrs. Bobbie Jean Claxton Tapley, 62, of Swainsboro passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Emanuel Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mrs. Tapley was born February 27, 1959, in Swainsboro to the late Richard Claxton, Sr. and Katherine Flanders Claxton. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Wall; brother, Douglas Claxton; niece, Jenny Bryant; great nephew, Braxton Bethea; children’s father, Danny Allen Lee. Mrs. Claxton loved flowers and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Claxton was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Richard F. Tapley of Swainsboro; daughters, Katie (Keith) Lowery of Swainsboro, Malicia Lee (Matt) Maddox of Metter; brothers, Richard Claxton (Sarah Johnson) of Swainsboro, Jimmy Claxton (Bonnie Leslie) of Metter; sister, Sarah McGraw (Harry) of Wadley; grandchildren, Jackson P. Johnson, Jarrett W. Johnson, Matthew Maddox, Molly Maddox; sister in law, Patsy Claxton; special friends to family, Yolanda Campbell and family; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Memorial Service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverends Allen Meeks and Lamar Kersey officiating.
