Bobby Sherrod

Mr. Bobby Sherrod, 83, of Twin City, GA,  passed away on May 19, 2023 at his residence.  

Mr. Bobby was born on June 7, 1939, to the late Harvey Sherrod and Lula Scott Sherrod in Swainsboro, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia Mae Braddy Sherrod; daughter, Seresa Waters; son, Jimmy Ray Sherrod; sisters, Johnnie Canady, Lillian Hodges, Mary Rich, and Marjorie Johnson. Mr. Bobby farmed with his dad for many years. He loved going to church and fishing. Mr. Bobby was not one to ever meet a stranger. He was a very meek and humble man. He was a member of Swainsboro Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons, Bobby Frank Sherrod of Twin City and Harvey Sherrod of Eastman; daughter, Ladona Lara of Metter; sisters, Janie Perkins of Waynesboro and Louise Barker of Millen; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.  

Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 22, 2023 in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Dowless officiating, assisted by Reverend Andrew Flowers.

Interment will follow in Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday, May 21st, 2023, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Sammy Braddy, Dale Brown, Jessie Brown, Bud Wright, Wendell Powell, and Cooper Henry.
