Ms. Carolyn Gadson Boatwright, 67, of Midville passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Burke Medical Center following a brief illness.
Ms. Boatwright was born December 22, 1953 in Swainsboro to the late Sam Gadson and Sally Bradley Gadson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Willie Boatwright; brothers, Robert Jones, Jessie James Gadson. Ms. Boatwright entered a welcoming place where she will rest in eternal peace. She was a very kind-hearted person that didn’t mind helping others. She opened up her home to others and treated them like her own. Ms. Boatwright was a hard-working woman coming up in age. She loved being in the kitchen cooking for family and friends. Ms. Boatwright was an extraordinarily strong and outgoing person. She would go for a walk in the evenings to exercise her knees. She listened to some of her old music all night.
Ms. Boatwright never went to bed at night. She would be up at night and sleep during the day.
Survivors include her sons, Ronald Boatwright, Donald Boatwright, both of Midville, Jaquavious Woods of Swainsboro, Christopher Woods of Hinesville; daughters, Trina Boatwright, Tamika Woods, both of Swainsboro, Jessica Woods, Justine Woods, Robbie Woods, all of Midville; godchildren, Michelle Brinson, Irenette Brinson and Terrance Brinson; brother, Joseph Gadson of Swainsboro; sisters, Robertha Gadson of Swainsboro, Josephine Jackson of Canoochee, Earnestine Reese of Millen; grandchildren, Malaysha Adams, J’Smyne Adams, Carlton Adams, Jr., Tra’Layha Adams, Ashanti Carswell, Mya Boatwright; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Graveside Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 at Lane Grove Baptist Church with Minister Christine Reese officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Christopher Woods, Carlton Adams, Donnell Anthony, Jr., Andre Jackson, Jermaine Jackson and Marcus Gadson.
In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6 feet rule will be enforced during visitation and service.
