Mrs. Carolyn F. Moore, 86, of Vidalia passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Community Hospice of Vidalia following an extended illness.
Mrs. Moore was born January 15, 1933 in Swainsboro to the late Joe Flanders and Pauline Pritchard Flanders Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 64 years, Theron Moore, Sr.; brother, James Byrd Flanders; sister, JoAnn Flanders Gay. Carolyn was a beautician for 45 years. She loved her grandchildren and family and loved cooking for her family and friends. Carolyn attended special functions at Oak Chapel Church. She was a charter member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Franklin (Gay) Moore of Perry, Anthony (Melissa) Moore of Vidalia; grandchildren, Melanie Moore Watson (Jamey) of Perry, Eric Moore (Brittany) of Jackson, Meredith Gay (Matt) of Valdosta; great-grandchildren, Ella Watson, Campbell Watson, Sadie Beth Watson, Riley Gay, Caroline Moore, Marlee Gay; sister-in-law, Nancy Flanders of Midville; special friends, Tim & Judy Garrett, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2019 with Reverends Nick Hazelton and Mark Miller officiating.
Interment will follow in Swainsboro City Cemetery with Reverend Ray Jenkins officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Calvary United Methodist Church of Swainsboro or Community Hospice of Vidalia.
Pallbearers are Chesley Flanders, M. L. Gay, Joe Flanders, Matt Gay, Jamey Watson, and Hunter Gay.
