Cody R. Parks, 14, of Swainsboro passed away January 9, 2022, at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro following injuries sustained in an ATV accident.
Cody was born January 17, 2007, in Dublin to Tim Parks and Jessica Parks, and every day after was brighter. If you know Cody, you know what we are talking about. Cody spent the majority of his time thinking about others. He wanted everyone to be happy, joyful, and loved. Even at ages where young men are often “too cool” to show affection, Cody was never afraid to show you how much you meant to him. Sometimes that meant a kind word, other times he would work relentlessly to make you laugh, and he couldn’t have a single dollar in his pocket without trying to give it away or buy something for someone else. Cody loved his family with all his heart, as well as anyone else who would let him. He was up for anything at any time, he was always going to have more fun than anyone else.
We could take hours upon hours and days upon days to explain all the great things that Cody was and things he liked to do, and we will. We will have those memories of Cody forever, and it’s important to share them with one another. The Lord knows Cody would be mad if he found out we didn’t remember and smile at all of his corny jokes and funny dances.
So, just in case you haven’t figured this out yet, we’ll say it plainly: Honor Cody by sharing the good times together. Don’t take yourself so seriously. Be generous with your time and resources. Care about others. And love hard. Always, always love no matter what.
