Mr. Denny L. Riner, 74, of Swainsboro passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020, at AU Medical Center in Augusta following a brief illness.
Mr. Riner was born September 18, 1945 in Swainsboro to the late Ira T. Riner and Georgia Brinson Riner. He was preceded in death by his parents.. Mr. Riner was co-owner of Better Built Buildings in Kite where he has worked for the last 41 years. He served in the National Guard for 6 years. Mr. Riner enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching old western movies and Nascar racing, and spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Riner of Swainsboro; son, Greg (Cindy) Riner of Swainsboro; daughter, Deneen Denny of Port Wentworth; brothers, Larry Riner of Swainsboro and Ted Riner of Portal; grandsons, Daylan Riner, Ashley (Lynnsey) Denney, and Zack Denney; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 9, 2020 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Brian Patrick officiating.
Interment will follow at Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
There will be a walk-in viewing from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2020 at Chapman Funeral Home.
In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, the 10 people, 6 feet rule will be enforced during the walk-in viewing.
Pallbearers are Mark Smith, Bryce Wilkerson, Ashley Denney, Zack Denney, Ricky Thompson, Lynn Thompson, Darrell Morris, and Corbin Wiggins.
Honorary pallbearers are employees of Better Built Buildings, Daniels Creek, and Boggy Bottom Hunting Clubs.
