Mrs. Emma Jean Holloway Martin, 62, of Swainsboro passed away Friday, April 24, 2020 at Community Hospice in Vidalia following an extended illness.
Mrs. Martin was born June 17, 1957 in Summertown to the late Willie Gamble, Sr. and Henrietta Holloway Gamble. Mrs. Martin was a good cook. She loved family time, puzzle books, playing games on her phone and drinking coca cola.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Martin of Swainsboro; sons, Chavez Holloway and Verlon Gillis, Jr., both of Swainsboro, and Keeven Holloway of Fort Lauderdale, FL; daughter, Tamika (Kelvin) Peebles of Swainsboro; step-daughters, Cha’Bria Martin of Swainsboro and Shemekia Vinning of Wadley; brothers, Willie Gamble, Jr., Walter Gamble, Gregory (Sandra) Waters, all of Swainsboro, Herbert Waters of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and James (Zipporah) Gamble of Pooler; sisters, Darleen (Calvin) Jenkins, Laverne Holloway, both of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Cheryl (Ronnie) Hughes of Stillmore; 24 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends.
Graveside Service will be Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 11 a.m. in Swainsboro City Cemetery with Pastor Dondia Cuttray officiating.
There will be a walk-in viewing Friday, May 1, 2020 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, the 10 people, 6 feet rule will be enforced during the walk-in viewing.
Pallbearers are Derek Hughes, Mark Watson, Eric Hughes, Clayton Watson, Marvin Hughes, and William Johnson.
Flower Attendants will be friends and family.
