Ms. Essie Lee Murry, 81, of Swainsboro passed away Friday, April 16, 2021 at Emanuel Medical following an extended illness.
Ms. Murry was born April 15, 1940 in Jesup to the late Claude Radford and Estelle Trull Radford. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip Murry; five brothers; two sisters. Mrs. Murry spent most of her life taking care of others as a beautician, foster parent, personal sitter and owner of a personal care home. She also operated Murry’s Restaurant and Bakery for several years. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and going to the beach. She was a member of Eastwood Church of God.
Survivors include her sons, Donny Murry (Donna) of Rockledge and Robert Murry (Belinda) of Vidalia; daughters, Tena Norris and Cindy Woods (Shane) both of Swainsboro; sisters, Nell Godbold of Jacksonville Florida and Elaine Young of Harlem, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2021 in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Andrew Flowers officiating.
Interment will follow in Eastbrook Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Rob Murry, Matt Murry, Austin Woods, Cody Hopkins, Jeff Drake, James Fullwood.
